Choosing an industrial pendant

Start with the cap fitting. Most take an E27 screw or a B22 bayonet, so check which bulbs you already keep at home before buying. Then think about scale. One large shade makes a calm focal point over an island, whereas a pair of smaller ones spreads the light along a breakfast bar. Mind the drop as well, since a low ceiling wants a shorter flex and a shade you can see up into. A dimmable fitting earns its place, bright for prep and low over dinner.
