Fifties smoked glass cone pendant
The shape here is mid-century to the letter: a straight cone, 20 cm of smoked glass, and light that arrives warm and amber rather than bright. Over a kitchen counter or a dining table it does the useful thing of lighting the food and leaving the rest of the room dim. Aged brass and chrome pick up the period detail without tipping the piece into pastiche. It sits between fifties heritage and something more current, so it will not argue with modern furniture. The drop adjusts across the full 150 cm, which covers low ceilings and stairwells alike. Fit a vintage filament bulb if you want the retro side to read more strongly, since the glass leaves the bulb on show. The proportions are the reason this shape has lasted seventy years: a cone this size lights a small area properly and looks deliberate doing it.Specifications

Safety & fitting
Anything wired into a ceiling or wall should be fitted by a qualified electrician; a like-for-like swap on an existing point is usually straightforward.
