The shape is a plain cylinder with rounded ends, closer to a paper lantern than to anything decorative. White fabric wraps it, so the light comes out even and low in glare instead of pooling into a hot spot. That suits a home office, where a bare bulb overhead is the fastest route to a headache, and it works just as well in a living room used mostly in the evening. Lit, the fabric shows its own texture and the surface takes shadow gently, which is most of the reason the piece holds your eye at all. The rounded ends soften it further, closer to a pebble than to a tube. It measures 20cm across and 40cm high, with an adjustable drop, so it hangs at the height the room needs rather than the height it arrives at.
